My fiancé and I spent our last night in Portugal at the Fazenda Nova Country House, and to be completely honest, we would travel to Portugal again just to stay at this exquisite property. The property is nestled between groves of olive and fruit trees in farm country, and offers breathtaking views from all angles. The grounds are well kept and quiet, with the exception of the wildlife singing. The groundleepers do a fantastic job grooming the fruit trees and gardens, all eloquently tended, and strategically placed to allow a guest to walk freely and admire the surroundings. The service was incredible, charming staff, available to assist if needed. A small pool with cabanas offered relief from the sun, and the kitchen on site offered food and beverages poolside throughout the day. The room was beautiful, well designed, and chic. There is plenty of natural light and privacy. However, I can not begin to explain how good the food was. It stole the show for me. The chef was brilliant. He genuinely had a passion for guest experience, ingredients were sourced locally, the quality of the produce was insane, presentation in point, and the finesse in temperature of each dish was spectacular. The five course meal was served open air, and we made our arrangements for dinner with the front desk. Breakfast was equally as impressive, served every morning in the same fashion. 10/10 would recommend Fazenda Nova Country House to anyone traveling this region of Portugal or flying into Faro, an excellent way to begin your journey in Portugal. Their hospitality is second to none and their knowledge of the surrounding area is excellent. With an eclectic collection of furniture spread throughout the property, this is a house where style and comfort sit together in perfect harmony. The attention to detail is superb, they even have a collection of sun hats you can borrow. Our spacious garden room oozed quality and the bathroom featured a huge shower and a host of REN goodies. It is difficult to figure out if the day should include relaxing by the pool, visiting the local beaches or sleeping in the hanging pod. The biggest decision of the day is whether to eat in or eat out for lunch and dinner. The food is so good it is a real challenge to drag yourself away. I have never been so reluctant to leave a place but this is really special and I have vowed to return.
